A federal appeals courtroom docket has dominated to preserve in place a short block of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ “Stop Woke Act” limiting conversations surrounding race in colleges and the workplace.

The DeSantis administration and state school system have been searching for to elevate the block until the attraction case concludes.

But on Thursday, the eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals denied the request – leaving a lower courtroom docket ruling untouched that stopped the regulation from taking affect, based mostly on a report by CNN.

“The court did not rule on the merits of our appeal,” DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin said in a press launch. “The appeal is ongoing, and we remain confident that the law is constitutional.”

In April 2022, DeSantis signed the Individual Freedom Act – aka the “Stop WOKE Act” – into regulation, which took affect July 1. But the state administration has been stopping quite a few approved challenges to it since.
